The wines from Domaine de Rieussec
Domaine de Rieussec is located in the heart of the Languedoc-Roussillon region, in the south of France. It produces red, rosé and white wines and a cartagena. The vineyard is classified as PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) Coteaux du Languedoc, PDO Terrasses du Larzac and PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) Saint Guilhem le Désert.

Great Gold Medal at the Grands Vins du Languedoc-Roussillon competition.
We prefer manual labour and deep ploughing rather than the use of chemical herbicides. We favour the use of products approved in organic farming. Our fermentation processes are natural, from indigenous yeasts, without addition of chemical yeasts for our red wines.
We have a small operating structure, which guarantees that our wines are elaborated with the care (and passion) that results from proximity.
Alcohol increases risks of diseases and health conditions, please drink responsibly.
Anyone under 18 is not allowed to buy alcohol.
Rieussec “Orangerie” Red

Grand Prize and Gold Medal at the Vins de la Vallée de l’Hérault competition.
Sélected by the wine guide Guide Hachette des Vins.
A blend of Cinsault, Merlot, Syrah and our most fruity varieties depending on the vintage.
Cellar life: 3 to 5 years or drink immediately
Rieussec “Orangerie” Rosé
This rosé was obtained by bleeding Syrah, Carignan and Grenache varieties to obtain its “rose petal” colour.
The harvest was done early to preserve the freshness and vivacity of the wine. Low-temperature vinification gives it intense fruit aromas. It has notes of red berries, with a great deal of finesse and an exceptional length on the palate. Wine for summer enjoyment to be served chilled with grilled meat or fish.
Silver Medal at the Vins de la Vallée de l’Hérault competition.
Cellar life: 3 to 5 years or drink immediately
Rieussec “Gentilhommière” Red
This wine, prepared with care in our cellars, is aged in Burgundian French oak barrels of 228 litres for about fourteen months, vinified mainly from Syrah. It will be the wine for your parties and important events.
This wine has been selected by the Guide Hachette des Vins and has received 7 medals for 7 vintages bottled to date including:
– Gold Medals at the Vins de la Vallée de l’Hérault competition
– Great Gold Medal at the Grands Vins du Languedoc-Roussillon competition
Cellar life: several years (about 12 years) or drink immediately
Rieussec “Jardin anglais” White
Made from Roussanne-Marsanne and recently from young vines of Chenin; “Jardin Anglais” White is a lively and sensual wine, characterized by bold aromas of grapefruit and chestnut.
Enjoy it with fried shellfish or a fish cooked in white sauce.
Selected by the Guide Hachette des Vins.
Cellar life: 5 to 6 years or drink immediately
Rieussec “Hauts Grains” sweet Cartagena wine
Sweet wine, perfect for aperitifs and desserts, with delicate aromas of apricots and peaches, and a refined aftertaste of almond and honey.
It is vinified from grape musts combined with a quarter of added grape alcohol.
This is a traditional and historical vinification method in Languedoc.
This wine can be enjoyed as an appetizer and to accompany your desserts.
Cellar life: 5 to 6 years or drink immediately
Tasting tips
For red wines:
– Think of opening your bottles a few hours before consumption (two hours), you can also decant the wine in a carafe when serving. The oxygenation will magnificently develop its aromas and you will say that the wine “opens up”!
– You can immediately taste our wines or cellar them:
“Orangerie” collection: rosé can be consumed within a year; red: up to 3 years.
“Jardin Anglais” collection: 5 to 6 years.
“Gentilhommière” collection: up to 10 years.
Keep wine in a dry place and at a constant temperature of 15°C to 18°C (without too much temperature variations throughout the seasons)
For rosé wines:
– Serve them chilled but never too cold: the cold “breaks” the aromas, it would be regrettable.
Our wines are the result of a long reflection, attentive walks in our vines, our know-how and our work.
